Your Own Place

Your Own Place

Your Own Place (YOP) is a social enterprise, based in Norwich, providing solutions to end homelessness. They have delivered Tenancy and Independent Living Skills (TILS) workshops to tenants across Norfolk and Suffolk, in partnership with Independent East (an informal alliance of 5 community-focused housing associations in the East of England).

The workshops are designed to help tenants with money matters, including budgeting and saving, as well as overall wellbeing including self-care and physical and mental health.

You can find out more about the workshops, by watching the below video with Surya Campbell, Operational Manager at Your Own Place.

The workshops are all free and are an opportunity to gain news skills, refresh any skills you already have and meet new people. They are a mixture of face to face and digital.

The digital courses are held monthly and the face to face workshops will be at locations across Norfolk and Suffolk. We can help with transport, childcare and IT equipment, if needed.

If this is something you would be interested in, please either speak to your Neighbourhood Officer, you can email or call Customer Engagement Officer Rebecca LeCaille on 01508 532000.

We have received some positive feedback from tenants following TILS workshops, this includes Philip who was referred to the workshops by our Neighbourhood Officer Paul Quick. Philip said he grew in confidence during the session and shared that it “has made me consider going to other groups.”

Chantay, one of our tenants, has spoken about her experience on the digital workshops. You can watch her video by clicking on the image below:

Please note there are limited spaces available, so all referrals will be prioritised on a case-to-case bases.
