Fundraising 5050

In the spirit of giving around the festive period, Saffron colleagues have taken part in events and initiatives to raise funds for local charities and communities.

Christmas Donation House
A Christmas Donation House based in the Saffron office to collect donations for local foodbanks

Throughout December, we had a Donation House at our office with staff generously donating items such as tinned or dried foods, long-life milk and juice, coffee and tea, jams and sauces, and toiletries such as laundry detergent and toilet roll.

In time for Christmas, the items were bagged up and transported to foodbanks at Hope Church in Diss and the Community Outreach Project in Wymondham. The donations were gratefully received.

Christmas Quiz & Chips

We have also hosted a staff Christmas Quiz & Chips event. As part of the evening, we raised £104.72 for the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), our chosen charity for 2023/24. Click here to learn more about the NICU.

Long Stratton Christmas Lunch

On Christmas Day, we supported a charity Christmas Lunch hosted at Long Stratton Council Pavilion.

We provided festive treat bags to send people home with after the event, and Saffron CEO James Francis spent Christmas morning welcoming and chatting to tenants who attended the event.

James said: “I welcomed around 20 lovely people who would otherwise have been spending Christmas alone to the venue and was responsible for making tea and coffee.

“At 12.45pm, I helped serve Christmas dinner to our guests. It was heartwarming that this event, which used to take place pre-pandemic, has been brought back and the organisers did an amazing job at putting the event together.

“Seeing the joy and gratitude of our guests was a wonderful way to spend Christmas morning."
