We are delighted to introduce Kim Newman as our new Chair of the Board, following Bob Walder’s retirement announcement in December 2022.
Kim is a seasoned Non-Executive Director, most recently serving as Chair of Orwell and is also Founder and Managing Director of specialist Business Change and Property Services Consultancy PML. Having experienced first-hand the security, community and life chances that are provided by social housing, she has dedicated her career to supporting the housing sector and other public sector clients.
She will be joining us at a time when we are embedding our groundbreaking tenant designed scrutiny and engagement structure - Saffron Community Membership. Kim commented: “Saffron is a well-funded organisation and I’ve been really impressed with their ambition, plans for investment in local communities, both new and existing homes and their approach to working in partnership with tenants.”
Bob Walder added: “It’s been a privilege to Chair Saffron for the past 5 years and I am immensely proud of all that we have achieved, particularly navigating the challenges of the pandemic and the current complex operating landscape. Kim has joined at an exciting time, and I wish her all the best in her new role.”

Kim takes up her new role on 1st April 2023.
